Red Green used to say, "If the women don't find you handsome they should at least find you handy." I'm handy. I can wire new circuits, fix my roof, repair my plumbing and install crown molding. I've bought any number of products that required assembly and put them together.
However when Bob asked me to assemble an E3 I wasn't to keen on the idea. I’m telling you this because we have had a few customers cancel their orders because they were intimidated by the idea of assembling the kit. I totally get it. Totally.
But then I assembled my E3. I have to say the boxes of parts and motors and bags of nuts, bolts and bearings made my knees quiver. The assembly took a little about 5 hours. My biggest problem, all those little nuts. I had to use a forceps to get them into their T-slots because my fat fingers don't grip and manipulate tiny doohickeys like that anymore.
Here’s my biggest takeaway. This thing is awesome! The directions were clear, they made sense and they were easy to follow. Every part, every nut, bolt and piece of wire fit together the way it’s supposed to. The adjustments required to fit the Y carriage and the gantry to the rail system were relatively easy to make. Even tensioning the belt drive was straight forward. I was embarrassed that I’d been so intimidated and unwilling to dive in.
So, if you’re putting off your purchase of the E3 because you’re not sure you can swim in the deep end, we get it. We’re here to help. You’re gonna love it. It might take some time but trust me, you are gonna love it.
