Assembling the E3 or E4 is Easier Than You Think

Red Green used to say, "If the women don't find you handsome they should at least find you handy."  I'm handy.  I can wire new circuits, fix a roof, repair plumbing and install doors and windows.  My big weakness I hate putting together kits.

We've had a few customers cancel their orders because there were intimidated by the thought of having to assemble a CNC Router kit.  I’m telling you this because I totally get it. Totally.

But then I assembled my E3.  I have to say all those boxes of parts, stepper motors, bags of nuts, and bearings made my knees quiver.  But the assembly took a little about 5 hours. My biggest problem was those little nuts.  I had to use a forceps to get them into their T-slots because my fingers don't grip and manipulate tiny things like that anymore.

My biggest takeaway?  This thing is awesome!  The directions were clear, made sense and were easy to follow.  Every part, every nut, bolt, and piece of wire fit together the way it’s supposed to. The adjustments required to fit the Y carriage and the gantry to the rail system were relatively easy to make.  Even tensioning the belt drive was straight forward.  I was embarrassed that I’d been so intimidated and unwilling to dive in.

So, if you’re putting off your purchase of an E3 or E4 because you’re not sure you can swim in the deep end, we get it.  We’re here to help.  You’re gonna love it.  It might take some time but trust me, you are gonna love it.
